Below are certificates that I have acquired through training that supports professional needs and schools. The First Aid training I received is crucial to the wellbeing of students that are in my care. As an OSHC worker in primary schools this is training I have carried with me for quite a few years, and I understand the need and importance of having this training. I have had students in my care with severe allergies or other health care problems and I have seen firsthand the importance of having the appropriate training necessary.
Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN) training is also important to have. From personal experiences I have had to use knowledge and skills acquired from this training to make informed and important decisions.

The Jolly Phonics training I received has given me knowledge and practice that has been hugely beneficial, especially working in early years classrooms. My first school placement was in a school that followed the Jolly Phonics program, so the knowledge I received assisted me greatly. Knowledge and understanding of phonics and phonemes is important because it is the foundation of student development, particularly in early years classrooms. On my final placement there was a Jolly Phonics video I used with my students when we would have a spare moment. The video shows actions to the letter sounds. This was an engaging element and students loved associating the sounds, visuals and actions together. This Jolly Phonics video also fits in standard 2.5 Apply knowledge and understanding of effective teaching strategies to support students’ literacy and numeracy achievement. Below is the Jolly Phonics song I used with my class.
