3.2 Plan, structure and sequence learning programs
Highly Accomplished: Work with colleagues to plan, evaluate and modify learning and teaching programs to create productive learning environments that engage all students.
Through completing my teaching placements I have learnt to work collaboratively with fellow colleagues, both with other teachers and support staff (SSO's). Each week I would sit down with the other year level teachers and plan effective and engaging lesson content for the following week. We would draw on each others knowledge and ideas, as well as expanding on already developed lesson plans.
"Matilda planned closely with other Reception teachers and implemented some lessons in a team-teaching environment. She maintained a high level of professionalism to ensure confidentially was adhered to, therefore respecting the individual rights of all the members of the school community."- Alicia Farina, Mentor Teacher, 2016.
Below is an example of the planning we would sit down at collectively plan and organise together. This planning is used as a guide for the week and then we would develop task cards and our own lesson plans based on this planning. This planning could also be done in a electronic form, but for the purpose of this placement it was preferred that weekly planning was done in written form. As a result of these weekly planning meetings we were able to share resources and ideas which benefitted all of us. The planning conducted between myself and colleagues helped relieved anxiety and helped make me feel supported in the school setting.
